Eickenroht Elementary is participating in the 2024-2025 Honored Schools Program!
What it is: Through the Honored Schools online platform, students (and parents on behalf of younger students) within each participating school community are encouraged to recognize teachers by telling a story of how the teacher made a difference in their life. Every teacher who is recognized will receive their student’s story and will be publicly recognized at their school and on the Honored Schools website. Also, each recognition story serves as a nomination for the annual Honored Schools Life-Changing Teacher Award.
How it works: Visit https://honoredschools.org/about-us/ and complete the nomination form. All forms will be reviewed prior to publishing. Each time a form is submitted, that teacher will receive an email notifying them of the submission so they can read it, it will be posted on the website, AND the teacher is entered to win one of the awards:
The Awards: At the end of each school year, two or more recognized teachers in each region will be awarded the Honored Schools Life-Changing Teacher Award and will receive a $2,000 DonorsChoose classroom resources and a $500 Visa Gift Card cash award and will be featured, along with the nominating student, on the HonoredSchools.org website.
We encourage all students to participate!

Greetings Eickenroht families,
This is a friendly reminder about ID Badges. If your student doesn’t have one, it will be issued. Students are expected to keep up with their badge. If it is missing, there will be a $2 charge to replace it. This is a matter of safety. If your student’s badge comes up missing, a notification will be sent to you. You have the option of sending the money with your student, or coming to the school to pay in person. Thank you for your cooperation and adherence with this matter.
Eickenroht Administrative Team
Dear Parents,
On Tuesday, October 29th, Eickenroht will hold the Ghoulish STEM Night. This event begins at 5:30. Since we will also have our after school program, 21st Century, in progress, I am asking that you park and enter on the bus side of the campus. This is the entrance off Ella. Students do have to be with an adult to attend. If your child goes to the after school program and you want them to attend, you will need to pick them up and attend the event with you. Students will NOT be permitted to attend without an adult. After school parents will continue to pick up their children from the front of the building facing Grand Point. If you have any questions or need clarification, please feel free to reach out. sberlitz@springisd.org
Sincerely,
Mrs. Swearingen

Voter Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE)
The Spring ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to include a Voter Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) on the upcoming Nov. 5 ballot.
Trustees approved proposing a tax rate of $1.1569 per $100 of property valuation for the 2024 fiscal year, a 5-cent increase from the current rate. If the VATRE passes, that proposed total tax rate would cost a homeowner about $7.00 more per month on a $275,977 house. Homeowners who are receiving a homestead exemption for disability or are age 65 or older would not see an increase above their tax ceiling as a result of the VATRE.
The proposed tax rate, if approved by voters, would provide critical funding for teacher and staff salaries, including a 2% across the board raise for all staff. Starting teacher pay would increase from $60,500 to $61,500 per year, and targeted adjustments would be made for teachers with 5-15 years of experience, putting it in line with other local school districts. Additionally, the district’s remaining budget deficit would be reduced from $12 million to less than $1 million. Voter Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE)
